**NEW** CBT for Radiological Control Technicians (RCTs)

Radioactive Material Transportation
Computer-Based Training (CBT)

EnergySolutions Training is pleased to announce developing a Radioactive Class 7 Material Packaging and Transportation computer based training (CBT) specifically for the functions performed by Radiological Control (RCT, RP, HP, RADCON) personnel. This course includes Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory references, informational handouts, interactive review exercises, and a test to comply with the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Hazardous Material Employee Training in 49 CFR 172, Subpart H. This CBT is designed for personnel needing recertification or can be used as a challenging introduction for inexperienced personnel and can provide a cost-effective alternative to a traditional classroom setting.

Topics Included in this Training:

  • Introduction to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and use of a scientific calculator
  • Overview of Radioactive Class 7 Material Packagings and Communications for: Excepted Packages; Type A, Type B and Fissile Packages; Highway Route Controlled Quantity (HRCQ); Low Specific Activity (LSA); and Surfaced Contaminated Objects (SCO)
  • Radiation and Contamination limits for Excepted, Type A, Type B and Fissile Packages; Shipments under Exclusive Use controls; and LSA/SCO radioactive materials
  • Radiation and Contamination survey techniques and necessary calculations
  • Transportation security awareness and methods to minimize threats and risks
