DVIRs for Passenger Vehicles Change Coming
DVIRs for Passenger Vehicles Change Coming.pdf
On August 18, 2020 (85 FR 50787) the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rescinded the requirement that drivers of passenger-carrying commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) operating in interstate commerce submit, and motor carriers retain, driver-vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) when the driver has neither found nor been made aware of any vehicle defects or deficiencies (no-defect DVIRs). This final rule removes an information collection burden without adversely impacting safety. Effective September 17, 2020.
